Cake Trend: Industrial Modern
Light and airy with a little rough and tough. Industrial chic incorporates the smooth (copper), the natural (greenery) and the rough (stone). Brides have loved metallics for a long time now but bronze and copper is hitting the scene hard!
To incorporate this trend in your wedding don't forget to mix up the sweet with the textural. This balance of rough and shiny is what makes this trend so interesting. Keep your colors to neutrals with pops of metallic.
Shannon Mayes of Sweet Art Cake Company is known for her creative wedding cakes and she does not disappoint with her rendition of this beautiful copper themed cake!

We love the look of the beautiful hammered copper peaking out from behind that crackled fondant! And the sugar flowers are so pretty!

About this cake:
"The trend I chose was copper. I have always loved the color and have not yet had a chance to do a cake with it! I knew with it being a metallic color I wanted to incorporate it through a texture to really show the beauty. I particularly like the look of hammered metal and decided to go with that. I couldn't decide between doing a black cake or a white cake to compliment the copper color and ultimately decided to use both colors and carry the copper throughout each element."
