Cake Trend: Jewel Tones

Jewel tones are hot right now and full of lux textures like sleek acrylic signs, velvet fabrics and pops of color mixed with metallics! Events that incorporate the jewel tone trend scream luxurious and your guests may never want to leave.

To incorporate this trend into your wedding, think about vintage florals with deep rich colors mixed with pops of metallics and soft fabrics. Keep the mood going with low lights, candles and a bit of sparkle goes a long way.

Surprise your guests with a red velvet cake that is moist and delicious or try a color that accents your theme. Just switch out the food coloring but keep the flavor.

Cynthia from Caked By Cynthia White is known for her unique cake designs that often go viral and is known for throwing lavish and over-the-top parties for her daughter's birthday every year.

We LOVE her take on the jewel tones cake trend with this dark blue beauty. We're not sure if it's fabric or it's cake! The delicate folds seem to be blowing in the wind and the blue is complimented perfectly with that pop of gold! If this were a dress I'd definitely wear it.

About this cake:

"I have always loved untraditional weddings, so seeing dark, sultry colors making their way into wedding cakes excites me. I translated the dark and moody wedding trend into cake by using deep peacock, navy blue and gold.  Different textures were used to add  interest and movement to the deep color tones."
