At first, I wondered if I would get enough out of Sugar Geek Show to justify the cost every month, I mean, would I even use it? Well, it has gone so far beyond what I ever even began to expect!
Within my first 3 months, I placed 3rd in the sculpted cake category at America’s Cake Fair in Orlando.
I used techniques that I learned from at least 3 of Liz’s tutorials on my piece so without the knowledge that I gained from becoming an Elite member, I doubt that I would have even entered the competition. And a bonus perk, I used a few of the tools that I got as gifts for being an elite member on my piece!
I started out watching the most basic tutorials. I set aside a few hours every night and watched a tutorial or 2. Some of them I thought at first that I would not need, but I would continually find that when I would do my next cake, I would incorporate tips or things that I have seen in the tutorials, that the quality of my cakes was improving. And as the quality of my cakes improved so did my confidence.
Becoming a Sugar Geek was the best investment that I’ve made in my business so far. Not just the knowledge, but financially as well. As a result of the quality of my cakes improving, I was able to increase what I charge and stay booked!
The face sculpting tutorial is definitely the one that I’ve used the most. I was terrified to try and sculpt a face, but the way Liz explains every detail is so helpful that I amazed myself when I started sculpting a face. I couldn’t believe that I did it!
The variety of tutorials is great. I love that there are recipes and tutorials at different levels. There truly is something for everyone, no matter what your skill level is.
