Be My Valentine…Tutorial

Love is in the air and with it comes the indulgence of delicious desserts, usually in chocolate, pink or red form. Valentine’s Day certainly has it’s fair share of haters and that’s fine but what’s to hate about the excuse to eat yummy and fun desserts? Who cares if you don’t have a Valentine to share it with, be your own Valentine and hey, then there’s more for you! It’s their loss right? Twice.

We’ve put together another tutorial blog post featuring 10 fantastic and unique Valentine’s Day Desserts you won’t want to miss.

#1 Secret Love Heart Dessert Box from Ann Reardon

I love Ann Reardon. She just talks her way through her videos and I could listen to her Australian accent for hours. Her videos are so unique and to the point. This totally different heart dessert box not only looks delicious but how fun?!

#2 Chocolate Border Cake from Rosie’s Dessert Spot

I have done a few versions of this cake and I must say I LOVE the chocolate border/cage. I think it looks so elegant and much harder than it actually is to do! Impress someone (or yourself) this Valentine’s Day with this lovely cake design!

#3 Pink Ombre Heart Cake from Crouton Crackerjacks

This cake is so festive and fun! Ombre two ways in the shape of a heart. It just screams VALENTINE.

#4 Giant Rose Cake from Cake Style

This giant rose cake is seriously SO COOL! I don’t know what it is about mini and giant things but they fascinate me and this cake is definitely on my to do list!

#5 Grand Marnier Souffle from Food Wishes

Okay so this dessert doesn’t necessarily look very festive but it sure does look delish! That’s the most important part anyway really right? It’s also a nice break from the chocolate/strawberry flavor theme that tends to take over this time of year. This video is also quite hilarious so even if you aren’t interested in how to easily make a souffle, watch it just for a little entertainment value.

#6 Conversation Heart Cakes from How To Cake It

It is hard not to like Yolanda Gampp. Truly I secretly wish I could be her but since that isn’t an option I will settle for watching her awesome videos. These conversation heart cakes are so fun! They even have hearts inside as a surprise. Plus, think of all the ways you could personalize them for your Valentine, or yourself like she did.

#7 Chocolate Covered Fruit Kisses from ModernMom

So these caught my eye because they are fun, different and SUPER EASY. I really am totally about easy. If you’re strapped for time this one is the way to go! Plus you can’t go wrong with chocolate and fruit. Love how the raspberries look like kissy lips, genius!

#8 Buttercream Rose Cake Pops from CarlyToffle

Cute little roses you can eat! Roses don’t last anyway why not have some that taste yummy upon their death? Makes total sense to me.

#9 Geode Heart Topper from The Sugar Geek Show

Liz recently put out a fun new version of a geode topper that is perfect for Valentine’s Day! I mean it’s geoded, what more do you need?

#10 24 Layer Cake from The Sugar Geek Show

That’s right, another of our own BUT in our defense it does have 24 freakin’ layers! If that’s not impressive I don’t know what is! It’s the perfect way to indulge this Valentine’s Day and no one needs to know if you actually ate it all yourself.

Well there you have it, just about every type of Valentinesy dessert for you to choose from! Maybe a little heavy on the cake tutorials but then again we may be a little cake biased over here. Pick your poison and impress someone this holiday! Move over store bought chocolates.
